Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Med-Surg team on the 38-bed unit in Wilmington, Delaware.

This full-time night shift position (7:00 pm–7:30 am) includes every third weekend and rotating holidays. You will perform comprehensive assessments, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and educate patients and families throughout recovery and discharge.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN licensure in the State of Delaware.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards and performs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and documents accordingly.
• Implements appropriate nursing actions and applies sound clinical judgment.
• Discusses with patient/family about planned care and expected outcomes, documenting the discussion.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient care.
• Educates and documents follow-up care/ discharge education for patients.
• Assesses patient understanding of instructions and adjusts education as needed.

Unit Overview

Serving the Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, the Med/Surg floor at Saint Francis Hospital is a 38-bed unit. We care for a wide variety of patients including post-surgical patients, patient with chronic illnesses like Diabetes, and kidney failure, as well as those experiencing acute health issues. We focus on a holistic approach, addressing physical, emotional, and educational needs. This includes but not limited to pain management, wound care, and education on recovery and rehabilitation. Responsibilities Include

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
• Instructs and documents patient in follow-up care/ activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.
• Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.

Minimum Qualifications

• ASN Required, BSN Preferred, from an accredited school of nursing
