Job summary

Ascension is seeking an RN for the North Vernon, IN area at ASV Jennings, working FT with Night shifts in the Medical Surgical department. The role focuses on coordinating multidisciplinary care, monitoring patient status, and executing physician and nursing orders to ensure smooth discharge planning.

The ideal candidate holds an Indiana RN license, BLS certification within 30 days, and a life support instructor credential. Diploma from an accredited nursing program is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Indiana before hire or transfer date.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Life Support instructor certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Coordinates and leads multidisciplinary care for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

- Required Credential(s): Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
