Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a patient-focused Registered Nurse for our newly opened 12-bed Med/Surg Unit, with a strong emphasis on inpatient medical, surgical, and cardiac telemetry care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing with 1 year RN experience
  • New graduates with ADN meet minimum requirements
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota
  • CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with patients from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on the Med/Surg Unit
  • Monitor and assess patients and respond to changes in condition
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
  • Uphold professional nursing practice and participate in unit governance and quality initiatives

Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg Unit and make a difference for our patients and our community.

This unit is a newly opened 12 private bed med-surg unit focused on inpatient medical surgical and cardiac telemetry patients. Therefore, our unit provides a widespread knowledge and experience base for our nurses.

We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient.

Our Professional Nursing Practice Model offers patient and family-centered care that maintains an unwavering focus on what matters most: caring and healing at the patient’s bedside. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence‑based nursing practice. Our award‑winning programs give our patients and their families a place of comfort and healing. We are proud of the care we give each and every patient.

Work Schedule

0.75 Nights all 12's. Every 3rd weekend rotation.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience
  • Internal new graduate applicants can meet minimum requirements with an Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
  • CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
  • One year of acute care RN experience is strongly preferred
  • ICU RN experience is strongly preferred
