Job summary

Regions Hospital in Minnesota seeks a Registered Nurse for perioperative patient care. Under supervision, the RN will assess, prepare, and monitor patients before and after surgery, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesia to ensure safe, timely care.

The role is 0.75 FTE with evening/night shifts, 10-hour shifts, 1500-0130, on-call every 4th weekend and one night holiday per year. Requires BSN, Minnesota RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS within 6 months; ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Minnesota RN license required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• ICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with patient or caregiver.
• Admits patient to perioperative area and prepares for surgery.
• Monitors patient post procedure per orders; communicates with care team.
• Collaborates with surgeons and anesthesia for safe anesthesia emergence.
• Delivers and documents post-operative discharge instructions to patient/family.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

• Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with the patient or designated caregiver
• Admits patient to the perioperative area, assess patient and prepares the patient for surgery/planned procedure
• Receives and monitors the patient’s condition post procedure per PACU, SDS and SDEX orders
• Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence for anesthesia
• Effectively communicates discharge instructions with patients and families for their post- operative care after discharge
• Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule

• 0.75 FTE (30 hours per pay period)
• Evening/Night Shift
• 10 hour shifts
• Shift time 1500-0130
• Every 4th weekend on-call
• 1 night holiday a year

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Two (2) years of progressive care nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota
• BLS Certification upon hire
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
• ICU experience STRONGLY preferred
