Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. This night shift, full-time role involves direct patient care, care planning, and interdisciplinary coordination to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include implementing care plans, documenting changes, and supporting discharge planning while adhering to policies, procedures, and clinical protocols. A valid WI RN license and BLS certification are required at or before hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Registered Nurse credential from Wisconsin Board of Nursing required before hire or transfer date.
• Multi-state/Compact state license acceptable if applicable.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, documenting and communicating changes in patient condition.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care, serving as a liaison among healthcare team members to ensure well-organized, effective treatment.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assist with assessing and planning patientsâ discharge needs.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
