Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department to lead evidence-based practice improvements and partner with clinical leaders to close safety gaps. The role focuses on safe, high-quality patient care with hands-on rounding and mentorship for staff.

Minimum qualifications include a BSN, TN RN license, and BLS, with a preference for 5 years of experience and at least 2 years in related nursing roles.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date; American Red Cross or American Heart Association accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.

• Lead use of evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and ensure care is safe, consistent, and grounded in clinical standards.
• Partner with clinical leaders to identify quality and safety gaps and implement solutions.

• Coach and mentor caregivers through hands-on rounding and collaboration to build clinical confidence.
• Guide development and implementation of practice guidelines and improvement initiatives at unit or division level.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s)

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross or American Heart Association accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

Work Experience

• 2 years applicable experience required.
• 5 years preferred.
