Job summary

Kindred Hospital New Jersey - Rahway seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process. The role involves coordinating with patients, families and the care team, and supporting discharge planning to ensure safe transitions.

The position requires maintaining nursing standards, supervising staff, documenting care plans and communicating changes in patient condition to the team, physicians, and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current state RN licensure.
• BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the standard of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department.
• Directs, supervises, provides and evaluates nursing care to patients.
• Assigns or delegates tasks based on needs and condition of the patient and scope of practice.
• Documents patient admission assessments and care plans in the medical record.
• Assesses and reassesses pain and uses appropriate pain management techniques.
• Interacts with physicians, nursing supervisors and colleagues regarding patient status.
• Performs treatments and services within licensure.
• Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education.
