Job summary

Apploi is seeking a registered nurse supervisor in Chicago, IL, to provide direct nursing care and oversee nursing assistants, ensuring adherence to Federal, State, and local standards and facility policies. The role emphasizes supervision, care planning, and coordination with physicians to sustain high-quality resident care.

Candidate must hold an IL/WI RN license and CPR certification, possess strong nursing knowledge, and demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license to practice in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when needed.
• Must be able to interact tactfully with customers, families, staff and external parties.
• Must have leadership and supervisory ability and work well with others.
• Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to customers.
• Supervise nursing assistants and day-to-day activities.
• Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and dress code.
• Develop and implement care plans for customers.
• Attend care plan conferences and report concerns to the Administrator.
• Oversee rounds and ensure nursing staff perform required duties.
• Create a warm, calm environment within the department.
• Participate in continuing education programs.
• Coordinate equipment, supplies, and budgetary needs.
• Chart nursing notes reflecting care and patient response.
