Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a Night Shift, Full-time position in Maryland. The role emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and proactive patient condition monitoring. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available.

Minimum requirements include BLS, Maryland RN licensure (or current state), and multi-state license recognition. ACLS, STABLE, and neonatal/Pediatrics credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification and RN license required by hire date.
• Maryland Board of Nursing license or current state license.
• Compact State license recognition required prior to hire.
• Current registered nurse license prior to hire date.
• ACLS certification expected; if not, highly preferred.
• STABLE certification preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) preferred; Pediatrics experience a plus.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care with safety and excellence.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, holistic patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions in real time and communicate findings to the medical team.
• Develop and manage comprehensive discharge plans for safe home transitions.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring every action aligns with the highest safety standards and organizational excellence.


• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure patient care is seamless, holistic, and focused on the best possible clinical outcomes.


• Monitor and interpret patient conditions in real-time, acting as the vital link between the patient and the medical team through proactive communication and precise documentation.


• Advocate for the patient's journey by initiating and managing comprehensive discharge plans, ensuring a safe and successful transition from hospital to home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing or current home state

• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
