Saint Luke's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care for an assigned patient group under minimal supervision. You will complete required competencies during the introductory period and perform related duties as assigned.

Applicants must hold a Texas RN license, with a preferred Bachelor's degree and two years in acute care. Training in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and related courses is expected within defined timelines.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Two years in acute care preferred.
• Current Texas State RN license required.
• Must complete BLS/ACLS/NRP within specified timeframes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’ competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years in acute care. Previous clinical nursing experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):

• AHA Basic Life Support - (BLS) - Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role*Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
• AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) - must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role*Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
• Fetal Heart MonitoringIf Novice or New to Service Line RN: (FIRST TIME TAKING COURSES)Intro to Fetal Monitoring (Basic FM) within 30 DOHAWHONN Intermediate FM within 9 months of hire, ensuring they have already completed Basic FMAWHONN Advanced FM within 9 months of completion of Intermediate FM
• If Experienced to L&D:AWHONN Intermediate FMUpon hire, must show evidence of successful completion of AWHONN Intermediate FM within the past 2 yearsIf no completion in the past 2 yrs, must complete AWHONN Intermediate FM within 6 months
• AWHONN Advanced FM (AFM)If has current AWHONN completion- renew by recommended renewal dateIf completed AWHONN Intermediate FM in the past 2 years, must complete AWHONN AFM within 9 months of hire.If obtained AWHONN Intermediate FM after hire, AWHONN AFM must be completed within 9 months of Intermediate FM completion
• S.T.A.B.L.E. - Must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer date into unit (Renewal only required for Maternal Transport Team ).
