Tenet is seeking a Registered Nurse in San Antonio, TX to provide nursing care to assigned patients under minimal supervision. The role requires a Texas RN license and offers opportunities for growth within a large health system.

Various advanced certifications and bedside skills are expected within onboarding and orientation periods. The position includes a sign-on potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• No minimum experience required.
• Two years acute care preferred; prior clinical nursing experience valued.
• Current Texas RN license required.
• AHA/BLS at hire; BLS within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS within 60 days; required for Labor & Delivery.
• NRP within 60 days; required for Labor & Delivery.
• GNOSIS fetal heart monitoring within 30 days and AWHONN intermediate monitoring within 8 months.
• Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring for experienced RNs or STABLE Level 2 Nursery certification.
• PALS within 60 days for Pediatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under minimal supervision.
• Match patients’ needs with the nurses’ competencies.
• Complete established competencies within the introductory period.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position may qualify for a sign‑on bonus

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’ competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years in acute care. Previous clinical nursing experience.
• REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (LABOR & DELIVERY) *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period
• AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (LABOR & DELIVERY or any nurse floated into L&D) *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period
• Fetal Monitoring - L&D and Antepartum: Novice RNs are required to complete GNOSIS introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring with 30 days from hire date or transfer date into unit and AWHONN Intermediate Heart Monitoring with 8 months of L&D Orientation.
• Experienced L&D RNs (>1 yr experience) must have AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring on hire or within the first 90 days of hire, S.T.A.B.L.E. – Level 2 Nursery-Must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer date into unit (Renewal is not required).
• AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (PEDIATRICS)
