Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for night-shift coverage in a blended 8-bed ICU. The role involves complex patient care across ICU, stepdown and telemetry, with a strong emphasis on assessments, interventions and interdisciplinary collaboration.

You will join a close-knit team dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and ongoing professional growth within a supportive hospital community.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina state RN license or compact state license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1–2 years of ICU RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and identify care needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions and document medical necessity.
• Develop and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Provide age-appropriate, condition-specific patient care.

Our 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers a unique blended critical care experience, providing care across ICU, stepdown, and telemetry levels of care. Nurses work closely with the intensivist and gain valuable experience in patient assessment, stabilization, and clinical decision-making while caring for a diverse patient population. How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina state or compact state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Associate's degree in nursing is required (Bachelor's degree is preferred)
• 1-2 years of recent RN experience in the ICU is required.
