Job summary

SoftPath Medical in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an experienced SRO Float Pool Nurse to provide critical care coverage across multiple ICUs, including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, CCU, SICU, and Neuro/Neurosurgery ICU.

You will work night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week, participating in a rotating schedule that includes some holidays. A current VA nursing license or license-pending submission is required, along with Epic EHR experience.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required.
• Virginia nursing license or license pending submission.

Responsibilities

• Float to Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU.
• Work night shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per week; rotate every other weekend and holidays.
• Adhere to float policy and unit protocols to ensure patient safety; document in Epic.

SRO Float Pool Nurse

Unit Assignments

Floating to various ICU and intermediate care units including:

• Medical ICU
• Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU
• Coronary Care Unit
• Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1)
• Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU
• Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit (COVID)
• Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit
• Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit
• Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit
• ED Boarders (patients admitted to hospital but boarding in ED prior to room assignment)

Shift Details

• Night shifts
• Options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Required to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Must work Thanksgiving, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Time Off and Scheduling Policies

• Up to 40 hours can be approved for time off
• No requests for time off (RTO) can be approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Must adhere to the float policy
