The role includes care coordination, discharge planning, and family teaching for post-hospitalization, with ACLS and BLS certifications required within set timelines.

Qualifications

• Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. ACLS must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
• Plans, coordinates, and provides patient care including discharge planning and patient/family teaching for post-hospitalization.
