Job summary

Care New England's Butler Hospital is seeking a dedicated RN to provide direct patient care on the Delmonico 4 unit. The position follows a 36/72 full-time evenings schedule with every other weekend, focusing on adult inpatient treatment and discharge planning.

The successful candidate will participate in treatment planning, coordinate medical and nursing care, and promptly respond to psychiatric/medical emergencies while maintaining unit safety and high-quality care for all patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current Rhode Island nursing license.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning.
• Coordinates emergencies to ensure patient safety and overall unit safety.
• Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and taking on additional assignments.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
• Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe.
• Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• B.S.N preferred.
• Current RI nursing license.
