Job summary

Care New England’s Butler Hospital seeks a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in the 3C unit in accordance with ANA standards, Butler Hospital policies, and the Rhode Island Nurse Practice Act.

The role requires graduate of an accredited nursing program and a current RI nursing license, with a BSN preferred. This is a full-time evening shift (36/72) with every other weekend, working as part of an interdisciplinary team to support patient care and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RI nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
• Coordinates psychiatric and/or medical emergencies to ensure safety of all patients and appropriate care.
• Works as an active team member supporting staff and completing essential unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

This unit will focus on providing specialized treatment for our patients with unique and complex needs. In addition to patients with psychotic and mood disorders, patients treated on this unit will include those with severe behavioral disturbances and patients who are intellectually and developmentally disabled.
