Job summary

Ascension in Mequon, WI is seeking a registered nurse for night shift in the Float Specialty Units. You will deliver high-quality direct nursing care while ensuring patient comfort and clinical excellence throughout interactions.

You’ll manage the patient’s complete care journey, document progress, execute physician and nursing orders, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless continuity of care and safe transitions during recovery.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer date required.
• RN credentialed from Wisconsin Board of Nursing required.
• ACLS preferred.
• PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct nursing care with patient comfort and clinical excellence at the forefront.
• Manage the patient’s complete care journey, documenting progress and executing orders.
• Coordinate care across disciplines, advocating for holistic services and seamless continuity of care.
• Assess ongoing patient needs and adjust treatment plans with the healthcare team to ensure safe recovery.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct nursing care that places patient comfort and clinical excellence at the forefront of every interaction.
• Manage the patient’s complete care journey, meticulously documenting clinical progress, promptly executing physician and nursing orders, and providing critical updates to the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Coordinate care across all clinical disciplines, acting as the primary advocate and liaison to guarantee well-integrated, holistic services that lead to optimal patient outcomes.
• Assess ongoing patient needs in real-time, proactively collaborating with the broader healthcare team to adjust treatment plans and ensure a safe, efficient, and successful transition through their recovery.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
