Job summary

Ascension is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Mequon, Wisconsin. This day shift, part-time role delivers high-quality patient care while adhering to established protocols and collaborating with the care team.

You will document progress, rapidly respond to orders, coordinate care across disciplines, and support safe discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions home. Licensure as a Wisconsin RN is required, with BLS; ACLS/PALS as applicable.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Wisconsin Registered Nurse with active status prior to hire date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 1 month of hire date; ACLS/PALS as applicable.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct patient care per organizational protocols.
• Manage the patient care journey, document progress, and communicate critical updates.
• Coordinate care across clinical disciplines to ensure seamless services and outcomes.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct patient care that strictly adheres to established organizational protocols and best practices.
• Manage the entire patient care journey, meticulously documenting progress, executing physician and nursing orders promptly, and communicating critical status updates to the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinate care across all clinical disciplines, acting as the primary liaison to guarantee seamless and well-integrated patient services and ensure optimal care outcomes.
• Facilitate comprehensive discharge planning by assessing patient needs and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a safe, smooth, and successful transition home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
