Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide direct patient care from admission through discharge in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will collect assessment data, develop and execute an evidence-based plan of care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe and effective outcomes.

Qualified candidates hold a BSN with Illinois RN licensure and BLS, with ADN acceptable if pursuing BSN within three years; strong communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• Current State of Illinois RN license is required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration ability.
• ADN acceptable if willing to obtain BSN within three years.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status on admission and at care points.
• Organize health data so it is accurate, complete and accessible.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and communicate with the health care team.
• Document diagnoses and plan of care to support outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning at admission and coordinate with patient/family.
