Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse in Illinois to deliver direct patient care across the admission-to-discharge continuum. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Eligible candidates hold a BSN (or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years), IL RN licensure, and BLS. ER/Peds may require ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• BSN required for this role.
• Current State of Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• ER requires ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire; ER/Peds has added requirements.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status upon admission.
• Organize health data so it is accurate and accessible.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and initiate care plans.
• Document diagnoses and care plans to support outcomes.
• Coordinate discharge planning with patients/families and team members.
• Provide patient and family education based on evidence-based practice.
