Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy department at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville. This part-time role offers two 10-hour shifts per week, day hours, with on-call duties to fit department needs, including weekends and holidays.

You will deliver compassionate patient-centered care, implement care plans, coordinate with the care team, carry out physician directives, and support safe transitions for patients leaving the hospital.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from Indiana required.
• BLS or CPR certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in Endoscopy.
• Implement and monitor individualized care plans.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless treatments.

• Deliver Compassionate Patient-Centered Care: Provide direct, high-quality nursing care tailored to individual needs, adhering to safety protocols to promote comfort, healing, and clinical excellence.
• Champion Patient Care Plans: Implement, monitor, and adapt individualized care plans while tracking patient progress and communicating critical condition updates to ensure timely clinical decisions.
• Lead Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as the primary advocate and central coordinator across all care disciplines, ensuring a seamless, well-aligned treatment journey for every patient.
• Execute Critical Medical Orders: Accurately carry out physician and nursing directives to maintain clinical momentum and protect patient safety at every stage of treatment.
• Orchestrate Safe, Smooth Transitions: Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs alongside the broader healthcare team, empowering patients and families for success beyond their hospital stay.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • American Red Cross Professional CPR/AED Rescuer.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

Additional Preferences

• One year medical surgical or critical care experience required.
