Ascension Via Christi St. Peter in Derby, KS is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department.

This role supports day and night shifts with options for full-time, part-time or PRN schedules, providing direct bedside care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes. Candidates must have a nursing diploma, be licensed as a RN prior to hire, and possess required Life Support certifications with Pediatric Life Support preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• RN license required prior to hire date.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire; BLS within 30 days of hire.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• - Lead the delivery of compassionate, direct bedside care by following established clinical protocols to ensure optimal patient safety and outcomes.
• - Create, manage and continuously evaluate individualized care plans while monitoring patient condition and communicating vital status changes to the clinical team.
• - Serve as the primary coordinator across all medical disciplines to deliver a seamless, collaborative healthcare experience.
• - Execute physician and nursing orders accurately while evaluating, planning and coordinating efficient discharge transitions alongside the broader care team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• - Required Credential(s): Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• - One or more of the following: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• - Preferred Credential(s): Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• - Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
