Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services provided; multi-state compact preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Maintains required licenses, certifications and competencies.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance and quality initiatives to improve care using evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and resolves conflicts to support teamwork.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required education and certifications.
• Follows ANA Code of Ethics and supports ethical decision-making across disciplines.
• Appropriately delegates to RNs, LPNs, and UAPs (nurse aides, medical assistants, etc.).
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units within the service area to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrates age-specific care knowledge across the lifespan.
