Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf in Port St. Joe, FL is seeking a Night Shift RN to join the Emergency Department. You will lead care plans, monitor patient conditions, and coordinate interprofessional teams to deliver comprehensive care.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate interpretation of orders, and coordinating discharge planning to prepare patients and families for home care. A Florida RN license and ACLS/BLS credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support required within 6 months of hire date or transfer date.
• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire date or transfer date.
• Florida RN license or valid multi-state license (Compact State) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and adjust individualized patient care plans by monitoring conditions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated patient care.
• Interpret and execute orders accurately to ensure patient safety.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

- Lead and execute individualized patient care plans by continuously monitoring patient conditions and adjusting clinical interventions to ensure optimal recovery and high-quality outcomes.
- Serve as the primary care coordinator by uniting multidisciplinary teamsâincluding physicians, therapists, and specialistsâto deliver seamlessly integrated, holistic patient care.
- Advocate for patient safety and clinical accuracy by precisely interpreting, noting, and carrying out physician and nursing orders in accordance with the highest healthcare standards.
- Champion smooth, safe patient transitions by assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team, ensuring patients and families are fully prepared for care at home.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Additional Preferences

- At least 3 years of experience in ED, ICU, or flight nursing.
- RNs with Paramedic experience.
