Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, FL, is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department. The role requires licensure as a Florida RN, a nursing diploma, and at least 2 years of ED experience. Certifications in ALS/BLS with TNCC/PALS preferred.

The clinician will provide rapid, high-acuity care, discharge education, and contribute to throughput in a dynamic ED setting. The position offers a rotating schedule with midshift hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rapid emergency care to high-acuity patients in a busy ED.
• Perform thorough assessments and prioritize care to stabilize trauma, cardiac, stroke, pediatric, and medical emergencies.
• Anticipate clinical changes and initiate timely interventions to improve outcomes and throughput.
• Educate patients and families at discharge to promote recovery and reduce return visits.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date require. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience.
• PALS and TNCC certifications.
