Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West Emergency Department seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality nursing care, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and guide safe discharge planning in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires licensure as an RN in Tennessee (or Compact state), and certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS within specified timelines. Weekend option, full-time. Sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support certification required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Tennessee RN license or multi-state Compact license prior to hire.

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care focusing on safety, comfort and outcomes.
• Develop and manage individualized care plans with frequent progress checks.
• Communicate patient updates clearly with physicians and care team for timely decisions.

• Guide discharge planning for safe transition from hospital to home or next level of care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• 2 years of ED experience preferred.
