Job summary

Ascension Seton Emergency Center Leander in Leander, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Freestanding Emergency Department. This role features a day shift with PRN coverage, focusing on delivering high-quality ED care and rapid coordination with physicians and clinical teams.

The ideal candidate will hold a TX RN license and current ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications, with ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN with Texas Board of Nursing
• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications required or within specified timeframe
• Experience in emergency department nursing preferred
• Ability to collaborate with physicians and clinical teams

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care by implementing and monitoring specialized care plans to ensure patient stability and safety in a fast-paced ED.
• Serve as the primary liaison between physicians and diverse clinical teams, advocating for patients and ensuring orders are executed with precision.
• Assess, record, and communicate evolving patient conditions, identifying critical changes and adapting interventions in real time.
• Coordinate discharge planning and ensure patients have resources and support for successful transitions of care

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

What Additional Preferences We’re Seeking

• 5 plus years RN ED experience preferred
