Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced RN for the CVICU in the Ascension Premier Staffing team. The role covers multiple shifts with a 36-hour work week, offering a gross weekly rate of up to $2,562, reflecting critical care responsibilities in a high-acuity cardiac environment.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of acute RN experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and licensure to practice in the relevant state.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1 year of RN experience in acute care.
• Experience with cardiac devices and post-op cardiac care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Expert management of ECMO, Impella, IABP, and VAD for cardiogenic shock.
• Specialized care for post-CABG, valve replacement, and transplant patients.
• Precision titration of inotropes and vasopressors using Swan-Ganz data.
• Rapid intervention for post-op emergencies (tamponade, arrhythmias, hemorrhage).

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Expert management of ECMO, Impella, IABP, and VAD for patients in cardiogenic shock.


• Specialized care for post-CABG, valve replacement, and transplant patients, including chest tube management.


• Precision titration of inotropes and vasopressors guided by Swan-Ganz catheter data and cardiac output monitoring.


• Rapid intervention for post-op emergencies like cardiac tamponade, arrhythmias, or acute hemorrhage.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):


• Certified Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Certified BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Certified Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


• Must have compact RN license or state RN license relevant to travel assignment location prior to start of assignment.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Work Experience

• One year of RN experience in an acute care setting required.


• Cardiac Advanced Device Therapy Management at minimum of IABP/IMPELLA/Swan-Ganz Management


• Applicable license and/or certification per contract requirements required
