Job summary

Saint Luke's in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Float Pool on a full-time night shift (7p–7a). The RN will float between metro facilities, caring for diverse ICU patient populations across Medical ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU. Two years ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float between 3–4 facilities across the metro.
• Care for a variety of ICU patient populations (Medical ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiovascular ICU).
• Coordinate the plan of care and utilize the nursing process.
• Supervise other patient care staff as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The Opportunity

The Critical Care Float Pool is looking for an RN who wants to gain experience in various units while working at three to four facilities across the metro. The Tier 2 float pool nurse will care for a variety of patient populations and float to the following units: Medical ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU. Opportunity to work with collaborative multi-disciplinary teams and a supportive leadership team.

Accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Responsible for performing patient care, delegating patient care tasks, and for supervision of other patient care staff. Responsible for coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This clinical nurse demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
