Ascension is seeking a Nursing leader for the Pediatric ICU at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX. The Night shift, full-time Charge Nurse, directs daily PICU operations, prioritizes patient-physician dynamics, and sustains high-acuity care excellence.

You will mentor staff, coordinate staffing and resources, resolve care issues, and uphold quality standards while advancing professional development and patient safety.

Competenze

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Clinical Leadership: Leverages 3 years of PICU experience and 2 years in Charge Nurse roles to direct daily operations, prioritize patient/physician dynamics, and ensure excellence in high-acuity specialty care.

Operational Management: Optimizes unit productivity by coordinating staffing, managing resource allocation, and developing population-appropriate care assignments while justifying operational variances.

Team Development & Oversight: Drives staff performance through proactive mentorship, education, and clinical evaluation, serving as a primary lead for resolving care complaints and maintaining quality standards.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
