Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN, seeks a full-time evening shift Registered Nurse for Med Surg. You will provide charge nurse leadership, coordinate patient assignments, and lead recovery care after Cardiac/IR/EP procedures while ensuring safety and protocol compliance.

You will monitor real-time patient status, coordinate care across disciplines, and oversee discharge planning to ensure families transition with clarity and confidence.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire.
• RN license required prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provides charge nurse leadership and coordinates nursing staff and patient assignments.
• Leads specialized recovery care after Cardiac, IR, and EP procedures with strict safety standards.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

â Provides charge nurse leadership, supporting nursing staff, coordinating patient assignments, and serving as a clinical resource on the unit.
â Lead the specialized recovery of patients following Cardiac, IR, and EP procedures, ensuring every intervention meets rigorous safety standards and clinical protocols.
â Monitor and evaluate post-procedural recovery in real-time, communicating vital clinical shifts to the care team to ensure immediate response and personalized care adjustments.
â Coordinate as the central advocate between specialized disciplines to ensure a seamless, well-navigated care journey for both inpatient and outpatient populations.
â Manage the full discharge process, ensuring patients and families transition from the unit with clarity and confidence.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration :
â BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
â Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
â Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
â Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
