Ascension Health in Nashville, TN, within Saint Thomas Midtown, is seeking a Lactation Education Specialist to join the Lactation department on a Full-Time, Days schedule. The role focuses on educating staff and patients, developing programs, and collaborating with nurse managers across units to meet learning needs.
Ideal candidates are licensed RNs with TN board licensure or a compact multi-state license, BLS certification, and experience in childbirth education or lactation.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population. Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess learning needs and competencies.
Develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
Identify and/or develop teaching tools and instructional materials. Keep records of educational activities and prepares reports.
Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals. Utilizes principles of adult education throughout all learning activities.
May serve as an educator for unit-based, hospital-wide and/or community education programs. All other duties as assigned.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted preferred.
Educator specializing in Childbirth preferred.
