Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Main Operating Room in Nashville, TN. The role supports PRN day shifts, performing scrub and circulating duties, assisting the surgeon, and coordinating patient care before, during, and after procedures.

The position requires Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure, and timely completion of required Life Support certifications. A nursing diploma is required, and circulating experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required in Tennessee or compact state.
• Advance Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma from accredited school of nursing required.

• Perform circulating functions including monitoring and communicating patient condition and managing nursing care before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• 3 or 6 shifts tier options within 8 week schedule period


• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.


• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.


• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.


• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition \"Compact State\" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.


• One or more of the following required:


• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
