Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in New York City seeks a certified registered nurse anesthetist to provide General and Regional anesthesia services under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. The role supports perioperative patient care and education within a leading academic medical center.

The position requires a DNP or DNAP and NBCRNA certification, with BLS and ACLS certifications current. An equal opportunity employer and extensive benefits complete the package.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree from an accredited program recognized by COA.
• NBCRNA certification must be current (biannual renewal).
• BLS and ACLS certifications updated biannually.

Responsibilities

• As a CRNA, provide general and regional anesthesia to patients under attending supervision.
• Provide preoperative anesthesia services in the Preanesthesia Assessment Center in collaboration with the attending anesthesiologist.

Associates are eligible to apply for a transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is four (4) months for full-time employees, and six (6) months for part-time employees.

Requirements

• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP)degree from an accredited Program on Nurse Anesthesia, as recognized by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
• Certification by the National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) - certification required biannually.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications - certification biannually.
