Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY seeks a full-time Nurse Anesthetist to join a busy CRNA team across multiple sites. You will provide General and Regional anesthesia under supervision, participate in preoperative assessments, and ensure all anesthetic equipment and meds are prepared for perioperative care.

Eligible candidates hold a COA-accredited Master's in Nurse Anesthesia, NBCRNA certification, and BLS/ACLS credentials.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program (COA recognized).
• NBCRNA certification required (biannually).
• BLS and ACLS certifications updated biannually.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and regional anesthesia under supervision of an attending anesthesiologist.
• Deliver preoperative anesthesia services in Preanesthesia Assessment Center with attending anesthesiologist.
• Prepare all necessary equipment and medications for perioperative management.

Associates are eligible to apply for a transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is four (4) months for full-time employees, and six (6) months for part-time employees.

Administers anesthesia to patients and monitors their condition during and after anesthesia. Assists with the set-up of anesthesia equipment.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited Program on Nurse Anesthesia, as recognized by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
• Certification by the National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) - certification required biannually.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications - certification biannually.
