Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide general and regional anesthesia under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. The CRNA will also conduct preoperative anesthesia services in the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment Center in collaboration with the attending physician.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, performing preoperative evaluations, administering anesthesia, documenting records, and ensuring patient safety in the operating rooms.

Qualifications

• DNP or DNAP from COA-accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
• NBCRNA certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Check and prepare anesthesia machine before procedures.
• Requisition, prepare, and label perioperative medications.
• Conduct preoperative patient evaluations.
• Obtain intravenous access.
• Apply monitoring equipment.
• Document anesthesia department records timely.
• Document perioperative pharmacological interventions.
• Document perioperative non-pharmacological interventions.
• Provide patient report to PACU staff after procedures.
• Maintain clean and safe OR/anesthesia areas.
• Notify staff of equipment issues or supply needs.
• Maintain counts of all controlled substances.

Requirements

• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program recognized by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
• Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
