Job summary

Northwestern Medicine’s Staff Nurse Physician Group is seeking a clinically competent registered nurse to coordinate and deliver nursing care for acutely ill patients. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, teach patients and families, and participate in care coordination and quality improvement activities.

The role requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and adherence to clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years).
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment
• CPR – Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care by utilizing evidenced based practice to optimize safety and reduce errors.
• Administers medications following the six rights and adheres to age/condition-based guidelines.
• Develops and updates individualized care plans including teaching and discharge planning.
• Educates patients and families, explains procedures, therapies and treatments and documents responses.
• Coordinates with health care team, participates in governance and quality improvement activities.
