Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a clinically competent Staff Nurse to provide nursing care for acutely ill patients within the Physician Group. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, including phone triage and education for patients and families.

Responsibilities include medication administration with attention to safety and adherence to policy, data analysis for care planning, and ongoing participation in quality improvement and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years).
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment.
• CPR - Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care using evidence based practice to optimize safety and reduce errors.
• Follows medication administration rights and tailors dosing to patient age and condition.
• Assess, analyze, and plan care to meet physical, psychosocial, rehab, safety, learning and self-care needs.
• Educates patients and families, explaining procedures and treatments and documenting responses.
• Engages in pain assessment and management and discharge planning.
• Participates in quality improvement and department projects.
