Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse within the Physician Group to provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients, including phone triage, test result communication, and care coordination.

The position requires current RN licensure, BLS, and either recent experience or a new graduate status. BSN is preferred, with opportunities for professional development and teamwork across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years).
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.
• BSN preferred.
• One year experience in pertinent clinical specialty.
• Proficiency in second language.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care using evidence-based practice to optimize safety and reduce errors.
• Administers medications following six rights and adjusts for age/clinical condition.
• Assesses and plans care, documents nursing plans and discharge planning.
• Educates patient and family, involving them in the care plan and decisions.
• Identifies learning needs and barriers and provides appropriate teaching.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and departmental projects.
