Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join the ICU/IMCU team at Ascension St. John Owasso in Owasso, OK. This PRN, nights opportunity offers specialized progressive care to high-acuity patients.

You will collaborate with intensivists, therapists, and case managers, perform bedside assessments, titrate care plans, and assist with discharge planning to support patient recovery.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support (ACLS/ALS) within 6 months of hire or transfer date.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• RN license issued by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized progressive care to high-acuity patients requiring continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring.
• Titrate and adjust complex care plans, tracking patient trajectories to intercept complications and promote recovery.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with intensivists, therapists, and case managers for unified patient care.
• Execute provider orders with precision and support discharge/transfer planning for lower acuity levels.
• Act as a vigilant advocate, continuously monitoring and communicating subtle clinical changes in a fast-paced unit.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Deliver specialized progressive care to high-acuity patients requiring continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring, balancing advanced clinical interventions with compassionate bedside support.

• Manage and titrate specialized care plans, closely tracking complex patient trajectories to intercept complications early and safely transition patients from critical care toward recovery.

• Lead multi-disciplinary care coordination by collaborating directly with intensivists, therapists, and case managers to ensure a unified approach to complex patient needs.

• Execute advanced provider orders with precision, proactively driving the discharge and transfer planning process to ensure patients and families are safely prepared for lower levels of acuity.

• Serve as a vigilant advocate by continuously assessing, recording, and communicating subtle shifts in patient condition, acting as the crucial line of defense in a fast-paced environment.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
