Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a per diem flex schedule. You will join a leading home health and hospice company, delivering patient-centered care in home settings and collaborating with care teams to create and implement care plans.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vitals, administer medications, injections, IV therapy and catheter care, while educating families and supervising bedside staff. A flexible schedule and strong growth path are available.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical RN experience or approval by VP clinical.
• Current RN license for assigned state(s).
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and liability coverage.
• Familiar with computer use, HR systems and online training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborate with care teams to implement care plans.
• Educate families on patient conditions and needs.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and vitals.
• Administer injections, IV therapy or tube feedings as ordered.
• Administer and maintain catheters.
• Document care timely and accurately.
• Supervise LPNs and HHAs.
• Communicate patient progress to care team and manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.
• Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
