Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to join our home health team. You will coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care, collaborate with care teams, and educate families on patient conditions and needs in the comfort of the patient’s home.

Responsibilities include head-to-toe assessments, vital signs, injections or IV therapy, catheter care, and timely documentation. You will supervise LPNs and HHAs and communicate patient progress to leadership and the care team.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN).
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.

• Collaborates with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Performs head to toe physical assessments.
• Checks vital signs and manages medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.

• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Attractive pay

$35.00 to $45.00 per hour for Orientation and will then covert to a per point pay method.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.

*Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
