Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a registered nurse for per diem flex scheduling to deliver home health and hospice care in patients' homes. You will coordinate care with the patient care team and educate families on conditions and treatments.

Applicants should have an active RN license, CPR certification, and at least six months of home health experience. Orientation is paid and, after, compensation moves to a per point pay method with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Current RN license, state assigned.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Ability to navigate online HR services and training programs.
• Ability to assess patient status and needs by age.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborates with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Performs head to toe physical assessments.
• Checks vital signs and manages medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administers and maintains catheters.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Attractive pay

$34.00 to 42.00 per hour for Orientation and will then convert to a per point pay method

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.

*Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
