Job summary

Amedisys in Alabama is hiring an RN for home health with a flexible Monday–Friday schedule. Orientation pay is $34–$45/hour, after which it may convert to a per point pay method. The role involves coordinating patient care at home and educating families with a supportive team.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of RN experience, an active license, CPR certification, and a commitment to patient-centered home care with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year RN clinical experience; VP approval if less.
• Active RN license for the states you work.
• At least six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Ability to assess patient status and adapt care needs.
• Familiar with basic computer use and HR systems.
• If less than 6 months RN experience, participate in RN Intern program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborates with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Performs head-to-toe physical assessments.
• Checks vital signs and manages medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feeding.
• Administers and maintains catheters.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Communicates patient progress to the clinical manager and care team.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.
• Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
