Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our High Desert Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Lancaster, CA. This on-call role supports rapid mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication assistance within a 24/7 walk-in outpatient setting.

You will oversee nursing duties, supervise department staff on your shift, and help ensure compassionate, evidence‑based care for adults and youths with mental health needs. Starting pay is $38–$40/hour.

Qualifications

• Valid California RN license
• Current CPR certification
• Current First Aid certification
• Valid California driver's license
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1 year mental health care experience preferred
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to pass facility medication test

• Supervise the nursing department staff on their shift.

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications)

• Licensure & Certifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current CPR Certification
• Current First Aid Certification
• Valid California Driver's License
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience: One (1) year of experience in a mental health care setting working with seriously emotionally disturbed children, adolescents, and adults preferred
• One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to successfully pass the facility Medication Test

How you will make a difference (job overview)

The Registered Nurse is the treatment team member who is responsible for overseeing all nursing duties and related nursing activities for clients.

The Registered Nurse is also responsible for the supervision of the nursing department staff assigned to their respective shift.

Division/Program Overview

Facility & Setting: 24/7 walk-in outpatient urgent care

Clinical Services: Rapid mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication support

Length of Stay: Short-term stabilization (up to 24 hours)

Population Served: Serves up to 12 adults (18 + ) and 6 adolescents (ages 13-17)
