Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group seeks a Registered Nurse for its High Desert Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Lancaster, CA. You will be part of a 24/7 walk-in outpatient urgent care team, with on-call coverage from 7 AM to 7:30 PM.

The role emphasizes overseeing nursing duties, supervising staff, and delivering rapid mental health evaluations and medication support with a strong focus on safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License or equivalent.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; active licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all nursing duties and related activities for clients on shift.
• Supervise nursing department staff during respective shifts.
• Collaborate with treatment team for rapid mental health evaluations and interventions.
• Maintain medication administration standards and test compliance as required.

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Division/Program: High Desert Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center

Starting Compensation: 38.00 - 40.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location: Lancaster, CA

Working Hours/Shift: On call, 7 AM - 7:30PM

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current CPR Certification
• Current First Aid Certification
• Valid California Driver's License

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

• One (1) year of experience in a mental health care setting working with seriously emotionally disturbed children, adolescents, and adults preferred
• One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred

Ability to successfully pass the facility Medication Test

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The Registered Nurse is the treatment team member who is responsible for overseeing all nursing duties and related nursing activities for clients. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for the supervision of the nursing department staff assigned to their respective shift.

Division/Program Overview:

Facility & Setting: 24/7 walk-in outpatient urgent care

Clinical Services Rapid mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication support

Length of Stay: Short-term stabilization (up to 24 hours)

Population Served: Serves up to 12 adults (18 + ) and 6 adolescents (ages 13-17)
