Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Long Beach, CA seeks a Registered Nurse to join our 24/7 walk-in urgent care team. You will oversee nursing duties, supervise staff on shift, and provide rapid mental health evaluations and medication support.

The ideal candidate holds a California RN license, a BSN preferred, with 1 year of experience with seriously emotionally disturbed clients and supervisory exposure. We offer competitive pay, generous time off, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year experience with seriously emotionally disturbed patients in mental health care.
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to pass facility Medication Test; CPR and First Aid certifications required.

On Call: (7 AM - 7:30 PM)

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications) :

• Licensure: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of registered nursing, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
  • One (1) year of experience with seriously emotionally disturbed children, adolescents, and adults in a mental health care setting, preferred.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
• Licensure & Certification:
  • Ability to pass facility Medication Test
  • Current CPR certification
  • First Aid certification
  • Valid California Driver’s License

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The Registered Nurse is the treatment team member who is responsible for overseeing all nursing duties and related nursing activities for clients. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for the supervision of the nursing department staff assigned to their respective shift.

Division/Program Overview:

• Facility & Setting: 24/7 walk-in outpatient urgent care
• Clinical Services Rapid mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication support
• Length of Stay: Short-term stabilization (up to 24 hours)
• Population Served: Serves up to 12 adults (18 + ) and 6 adolescents (ages 13-17)
