Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking an LVN/LPT for the Long Beach Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center. This on-call position supports 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 urgent care setting, focusing on rapid mental health evaluations and medication support.

The role requires a valid California LVN or LPT license, with an associate degree preferred, and at least 1 year of inpatient mental health and med administration experience.

Qualifications

• California LVN or LPT license active and in good standing.
• At least 1 year experience with mental illness in inpatient settings.
• Experience with medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct client care including medications.
• Maintains milieu to ensure quality care and safety.
• Documents patient condition and reports to RN/physician.
• Orders/prepares/administers/documents medications per physician orders.
• Confirms delivery of all prescribed meds from pharmacy on shift.
• Writes client summaries as assigned.
• Organizes nursing activities and shift plans to ensure quality care.

Maintains vigilance over the general milieu within the facility to facilitate quality client care, optimum facility operations and preserve the safety of all therein. Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition of patients to the Registered Nurse in charge of the facility on the shift and the attending physician. Orders, prepares, administers and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physician’s orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication(s) from pharmacy on shift worked. Responsible for writing summary on clients as assigned.
