Job summary

A leading children's health organization is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian - PRN to provide nutritional services and education, primarily in pediatric populations. The role includes working as part of an interdisciplinary team, determining nutritional assessments, and recommending medical nutrition therapy. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Nutrition and current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. This is a part-time position based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Georgia licensed dietitian.
• Must obtain RD and/or LD credential within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional assessment using age and developmentally appropriate standards.
• Recommends appropriate medical nutritional therapy for assigned patients and evaluates response.
• Instructs patients and families related to nutritional therapy.
• Advises groups on pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition.
• Implements departmental standards for documenting activities.
• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development.
• Performs other responsibilities as required.

Job Description

Participates as interdisciplinary patient care team member to provide nutritional services and education to meet needs of identified patient population within the scope of the medical center’s mission and values.

Experience

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric populations

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Medical Dietetics, or related field

Certification Summary

• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Georgia licensed dietitian
• If dietitian does not currently possess RD and/or LD credential, must obtain within 3 months of hire

Job Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional assessment using age and developmentally appropriate standards.
• Recommends appropriate medical nutritional therapy for assigned patients and evaluates response to medical nutritional therapy and determines change.
• Instructs patient and family related to nutritional therapy which incorporates age-appropriate developmental standards. Includes family/caregiver in patient care and provides effective education appropriate for learning needs of patient and family.
• Advises groups related to pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition as required.
• Implements departmental standards for documenting all aspects of work-related activities.
• Participates as member of interdisciplinary team.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development responsibilities.
• Performs other responsibilities as required, including but not limited to departmental committee participation and annual competencies.
