Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a registered dietitian to join our Nutrition team. The role participates as interdisciplinary patient care team member to provide nutritional services and education to meet needs of identified patient population within the hospital’s mission.

Experience in pediatric nutrition is preferred; RD and Georgia licensure are required, with credentialing within 3 months if not currently held.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Georgia licensed dietitian
• If dietitian does not currently possess RD and/or LD credential, must obtain within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional assessment using age and developmentally appropriate standards.
• Recommends appropriate medical nutritional therapy for assigned patients and evaluates response.
• Instructs patient and family related to nutritional therapy with age-appropriate education.
• Advises groups related to pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition as required.
• Implements departmental standards for documenting all work-related activities.
• Participates as member of interdisciplinary team.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development responsibilities.

Job Description

Participates as interdisciplinary patient care team member to provide nutritional services and education to meet needs of identified patient population within the scope of the medical center’s mission and values.

Experience

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric populations

Education

• Dietitians credentialed prior to 12/31/23: Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
• Dietitians credentialed after 12/31/23: Master’s of Science or Public Health in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field

Certification Summary

• Advises groups related to pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition as required.
• Implements departmental standards for documenting all aspects of work-related activities.
• Participates as member of interdisciplinary team.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development responsibilities.
• Performs other responsibilities as required, including but not limited to departmental committee participation and annual competencies.
